Porifera
Sponges belong to the phylum Porifera. They are multicellular organismsthat have many channels and holes in the bodywhich allows water to pass through them. Sponges have unspecialized cells that can transform into other types of cells, to aide in healing and growing, and which often migrate through the sponge to go where it is needed. Sponges do not have nervous, digestive or circulatory systems. Instead, most depend on maintaining a constant flow of water through their bodies to obtain food and oxygen and to remove wastes.
